South African People Acknowledges the Work of the Cuban Collaborators
SOUTH AFRICA, February 16, 2010. The Cuban collaborators working in the construction sector in the Western Cape in South Africa received last week and authentic tribute paid to them by the public that attended the lecture presented by the Cuban ambassador to South Africa on the legacy of Cuito Cuanavale.
One of the participants in the event expressed that the legacy of Cuito Cuanavale did not ended with the path to freedom that was open by that historic battle but it is forever present in the efforts carried out by South Africa to build a more just society. It is also present in the selfless cooperation that Cuba offered, which is greatly appreciated, especially by the disadvantage communities for its contribution to the improvement of the standard of living of the people.
He also stressed that the Cuban collaborators that were working in the province were part of that legacy and thanked them on behalf of the South African people for the work they are doing and the values they are defending, which was acknowledge by the audience that dedicated to them a standing ovation.
