Cuban Support for Sports Development in Venezuela
VENEZUELA, July 20, 2010.- Venezuela is grateful for Cuba''s contribution to national high-yield sports and physical education, said Sports Minister Hector Rodriguez.
Rodriguez told Prensa Latina that the high technical and scientific quality of over 4,000 Cuban experts has been put at the service of over four million people.
Thanks to the work of the Cubans, young people plan their free time better and gain discipline, respect and solidarity in training sessions and in competitions.
They help us to rescue values, making sports an effective tool to contact communities and to make day to day life change for the better, he added.
Rodriguez recalled that the Cuban mission has trained over 50,000 Venezuelan sports promoters, and is now bringing them to the level of bachelors, masters and doctors.
Both countries maintain collaboration agreements since 2000, in areas as diverse as education, sports, health, agriculture and energy. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
