Brazil and Cuba committed to helping Haiti
BRAZIL, November 24, 2010.- Brazil and Cuba signed cooperation agreements for the creation of a healthcare services network in Haiti to fight diseases such as cholera that kill hundreds of people in the Caribbean nation.
In a joint statement, the signing parts said, "All activities will be organized with the collaboration of health teams from Haiti and Cuba, made up of doctors, nurses and epidemiologists."
In addition, it is expected that Brazil and Cuba sign this week another agreement with representatives of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) to create a cholera treatment center in the Haitian city of Carrefour. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
