Cuba and Spain Strengthen Commercial Relations.

CUBA, November 2nd, 2010.- Commercial relations between Cuba and Spain have strengthened significantly in 2010, after a serious decline in 2009, as a consequence of the world economic crisis.

Madrid’s Ambassador to Havana, Manuel Cacho, pointed out that from January to August, Cuban exports to his country increased by 6.5 percent, compared to the same period of 2009.

While inaugurating the stand of his country at the 28th Havana International Trade Fair (FIHAV 2010), Cacho also referred to a 7.8 increase in sales from Spain to Cuba.

Antonio Carricarte, Cuba’s First Deputy Minister for Foreign Trade and Investment, said Spain is one of Cuba’s main trade partners.

Carricarte underlined the presence of over 200 Spanish entities at this year’s fair, which are offering a variety of products, raw materials and services.

With an exhibition area of some 1,700 square meters and the participation of 75 companies, Spain is the country with the largest delegation at FIHAV 2010, which runs through Saturday. (Cubaminrex - RHC)
