Highlight Nigerian newspapers honorary chieftaincy conferred to the Cuban Medical Brigade in Ekiti State.

NIGERIA, September 16, 2010.- Nigerian newspapers have been highlighting the traditional ceremony where the Cuban medical brigade, who works in the Eye Center in Ekiti State, received honorary Yoruba chieftaincy. 

The 29 members of the Cuban Brigade received the titles from hands of Oba Jacob Ala, Okunoye 11, a traditional ruler of the Yoruba culture in ceremony held at the end of August. This unusual considered fact by having first given not native people of Nigeria symbolizes the thanks for the good work done by the Cubans. 

The Medical Brigade is working successfully in the Nigerian State from January 2010, and to date have made 5,709 medical consultations, and more than 400 surgeries, including Pterigium and Cataract surgeries. (Cubaminrex-Embacuba Nigeria)
