Cuba and Argentina Agree on Necessity of Collaborating to Prevent Tropical Diseases.
CUBA, February 8th, 2011.- The Argentinean Health Minister, Juan Manzur, and the director of the Cuban Institute of Tropical Medicine, Gustavo Kourí, agreed on the necessity of working together in order to prevent tropical diseases. They reviewed relevant advice and teachings and the cooperation that can be carried out between the Cuban Institute of Tropical Medicine and the future National Argentinean Institute of Tropical Medicine, being created.
Kourí stated that some tropical diseases are on the rise in that region, although those pathologies are not considered tropical, but rather are connected to other social and economic factors, such as poverty. (Cubaminrex - RHC)
