Cuban Cooperation Workers in Saint Lucia Participate in Radio Program.
ST. LUCIA, April 15th, 2011.- This April 9th, like every Saturday, the Radio Station 107.9 FM Caribbean Harmony Radio offered the possibility to share and broadcast the things that Cuba does, this time in terms of collaboration. The Cuban Doctors Barbarita Rodríguez, Head of Medical Collaboration on the island and Eloy Asanza, Psychiatrist, a member of the Medical Brigade participated, during the space of one hour; giving details to the Saint Lucian public on the medical collaboration that Cuba offers all over the world and in particular, in Saint Lucia.
The medical collaboration in Saint Lucia dates from 2001 and has prioritized the most needed specialties for the country: Dialysis, Psychiatry, Emergency Care and Assistance and Ophthalmology; through Operación Milagro. A total of 42 collaborators are working in Health Centers and Hospitals all over Saint Lucia, in which they work for a period of two years. They learn Creole, know the famous places like the illustrious Pitons and work with such dedication that they remain in the hearts and minds of locals for years.
