Cuban Ambassador presents credentials in Madagascar

MADAGASCAR. March 19, 2008. The Cuban Ambassador, His Excellency Mr Julio Cesar Gonzalez Marchante, presented to the President of the Republic of Madagascar, His Excellency. Mr. Marc Ravalomanana, the credentials letters that accredit him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba, resident in Nairobi, Republic of Kenya.

During the meeting, the Malagasy President inquired about the health of the Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and wished him a speedy recovery, while expressing admiration for the Cuban people and their Revolution. He also sent warm greetings to the newly elected President Raul Castro Ruz, wishing him success in the new responsibilities.

The Cuban Ambassador expressed his commitment to work for strengthening the bilateral relations within the framework of the traditional Cuban policy of cooperation and solidarity with Africa.

The occasion served to review some topics of interest to the relations between Cuba and Madagascar, where it was exposed once again the will of both governments to strengthen their links. (Cubaminrex-Embacuba Kenya)
