Venezuelan National Assembly Sends Greetings to Fidel Castro and Cuba

CUBA, April 20, 2010. The Venezuelan National Assembly (Parliament) sent on Monday greetings to the Cuban people and to the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.

During a solemn parliamentary session to commemorate the bicentennial of the beginning of Venezuela’s independence war and immediately after the president of the Assembly, Cilia Flores, welcomed Cuban President Raul Castro, the members of the Venezuelan legislative body chanted slogans in support of Fidel.

Present in the session were the presidents of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez; Argentina, Cristina Fernandez; Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega; Bolivia, Evo Morales; the Dominican Republic, Leonel Fernandez; and Ecuador, Rafael Correa.

Also present were the prime ministers of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit; Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves; and Antigua and Barbuda, Baldwin Spencer. Argentinean Cristina Fernandez was the main speaker of the event. (Cubaminrex- ACN)
