Venezuela´s Hugo Chavez Visited Fidel Castro

CUBA, August 15, 2009. The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez Frias, visited Cuban Revolution Leader Fidel Castro Ruz last August 13, on the occasion of his 83rd birthday. Chavez presented Fidel with two pictures depicting independence heroes Jose Marti and Francisco de Miranda, the works were done by painter Edgar Alvarez Estrada.

During his visit to Havana, Hugo Chavez held two prolonged encounters with Fidel and with President Raul Castro. The Bolivarian President returned to his country after his meetings concluded in the afternoon of August 13th.

The fruitful encounter reflected the coincidence on the topics analyzed, the fraternal relations between the Cuban and the Venezuela people and governments and the sincere friendship uniting the leaderships of both countries. (Cubaminrex- ACN)
