Fidel Castro Meets with Ecuador's Rafael Correa

CUBA, August 24, 2009.- A deep exchange of ideas and points of view took place in the morning of August 21 between Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro and Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa on the current situation of the two revolutionary peoples in their search for more
equity and social justice, Juventud Rebelde reports.

The newspaper points out that, in a long and sincere conversation, they tackled the achievements of the Revolution of the people boosted by Correa, particularly in the fields of health, education and the economy.

Fidel expressed his admiration for the amazing work carried out by the «Manuela Espejo» Mission to identify the disabled in the sister nation and organize an efficient attention to these persons, both from the social and medical points of view.

During the fraternal meeting, which lasted several hours, Fidel and Correa analyzed important current international issues, held exchanges on cultural and historical subjects, and demonstrated the close links existing between Cuba and Ecuador. (Cubaminrex-AIN)
