Campaign against Cuba a prelude to Invasion, Warns Uruguayan Writer
CUBA, Apr 13, 2010. - The smear campaign against Cuba, at a full swing nowadays, might be the prelude of an military attack, warned Daniel Chavarria, Uruguayan writer who resides in Cuba.
Chavarria, author of “Joy”, “La sexta isla” and “Adiós muchachos” among other novels, questioned the motives and intentions of those financing such campaign.
The writer, in a note released to media outlets under the name of “Ataque preventivo… mediático,” claimed this current situation on Cuba is a Fascist mechanism as the televised invasions are, and a diversion.
“This is a propaganda attack at its best –he said- similar to the one against Al Qaeda which is composed of European politicians and countries, mass media outlets, websites and any second-rate journalist passing as a connoisseur”
He said this campaign aims at planting a “reasonable doubt” on the international public opinion and called Cubans to stay alert against military actions.
Chavarria is a Greek, Latin and Classic Literature professor at the Havana University and resides in Cuba since 1969. (Cubaminrex - acn)
