

U.S. Daily in Spanish Rejects Campaign of Lies against Cuba
UNITED STATES, April 13, 2010 .- The United States, other governments and certain groups are maintaining a media campaign of terror against the Cuban Revolution, without the moral standards to do so, wrote the New York Spanish daily La Prensa on Tuesday.
Prensa Latina News Agency said the daily, the largest in Spanish in New York, carried a commentary entitled "Hypocrisy and falsehood towards Cuba" that described accusations from Washington and other European capitals as moved by misinformation, opportunism and terrorism.
"Clearly, neither the U.S. government nor the charlatan leadership of the dissidents in exile have the moral stature to talk about respect for life, human rights or political dissent," charges the article.
In Madrid, the Communist Party of Spain (PCE) today called for increased and unconditional solidarity with Cuba, in the face of what it called a campaign of harassment being waged in Europe against Cuba.
In a letter sent to the top leaders of the Communist Party of Cuba, Fidel Castro and Raul Castro, PCE General Secretary José Luis Centella reiterated the organization’s support for the Cuban Revolution.
In La Paz, the Bolivian Communist Party underscored its solidarity with Cuba, adding that the Caribbean nation needed such solidarity at a time when a media campaign is being geared up against it.
In Guatemala City, the Popular Front, an organization of the Guatemalan left, has convened Solidarity with Cuba event to counter the on-going media campaign and the silence being kept about it in Guatemala.
In Maputo, in a joint statement the Mozambican Friendship and Solidarity Association and the Friendship with Cuba Committee expressed support for the Cuban Revolution and demanded an end to the hypocrisy and double standards in relation to Cuba. Their call came during a meeting chaired by Marcelino dos Santos, a member of the Mozambique Council of State who chairs the Friendship Association. (Cubaminrex – Granma Daily)
