Panama, Ghana and Germany Express Support for Cuba.

PANAMA. April 12, 2010. - The movement of solidarity with Cuba in Panama today denounced the media campaign of aggression launched against Cuba by the international media.

On behalf of the Coordinator of Solidarity with Cuba, Letzayra Ramirez told Prensa Latina that the matter was discussed at a meeting of the group to evaluate the measures to reject such actions.

"It is regrettable that the campaign," said Ramirez, "is using the death of a common criminal for the benefit of their propaganda against Cuba."

Faced with this scenario, the movement agreed to use all means possible to expose the facts to the national and international public opinion.

In Ghana, the mainstream press and alternative media condemned the unjust campaign against Cuba, being carried out by United States and Europe as a further unsuccessful attempt to destabilize and destroy the Cuban Revolution.

The newspaper Insight, voice of the Socialist Forum of Ghana, published two editorials pointing out that Cuba can not be condemned for violation of human rights; it represents one of the most democratic electoral systems, while its people have full access health and education and does not suffer any form of discrimination.

The Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times, among others, also expressed their support for the Island.

A meeting was held in the German city of Stuttgart, at which the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. government against the Cuban people five decades ago was denounced.

The event was organized by the Friendship Association RFA-Cuba, and attended by members of the Cuba solidarity organizations, trade unionists, students and Cuban residents in that city.

Reiner Hofmann, president of the regional group that organized the meeting, underlined the support of the solidarity movement in Germany for the Cuban people and the Revolution, and the rejection of interventionist policy by the U.S. and the European Union towards the island (SE) (Cubaminrex – Granma Daily)
