World Federation of Democratic Youth Condemns Smear Campaign against Cuba
CUBA, March 15, 3010. - The organization issued a statement which qualifies as shameful and disgusting how the media in the service of imperialism, have launched a campaign of defamation and blackmail against the Cuban Revolution
The World Federation of Democratic Youth (WFDY) headquartered in Budapest, Hungary issued a statement on Friday in support of Cuba, signed by all member organizations and friends of WFDY, condemning organized media manipulation against the Cuban Revolution.
The text claims that the intense campaign of defamation and blackmail that has been launched against the island, especially in Spain and Miami, over the sad death of Orlando Zapata, an individual with an extensive criminal record, trying to disguise him as a political dissident when in fact ample evidence clearly demonstrates that he was more a mercenary paid by the interests of the Cuban American mafia, which needs to pay its mercenaries to try to build an internal opposition.
The statement stresses that the Cuban Revolution, led by Fidel Castro, is now more than ever a great example for all young people in this world, for its dignity, decency and strong determination to build a free and fair society.
It notes that the Spanish and U.S. government have no moral authority to attack Cuba on human rights. Shameful and disgusting, it calls the way the international media monopolies in the service of imperialism, especially in Spain and Miami, have manipulated and maligned this information wanting to put to Cuba in the dock without recognizing the unscrupulous dealings which they have used over the years to distort the reality of Cuba.
The document confirms the confidence that no dirty political maneuvering like that today can bow the fighting spirit of the heroic Cuban people and especially the younger generation, who, led by the example of the Five anti-terrorists unjustly imprisoned in U.S., are currently preparing to hold their 9th congress, from which they will emerge even stronger.
