Swedish and Mexican Parties Reject Media Campaign against Cuba
CUBA, April 1, 2010. - The Communist Party of Sweden and the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD) of the Federal District of Mexico stated their position against an ongoing international media campaign slashing Cuba.
The Swedish communists said the US-led maneuver supported by its allies is another attempt to discredit the Cuban Revolution and to isolate the island.
“The images of Luis Posada Carriles in a demonstration in Miami offer a perspective of the ridiculous and indecent harassment campaign they are leading against Cuba,” reads the Swedish statement.
It adds that even though Posada Carriles looks like an old man, he continues to be the same mass killer protected by the United States and by those who are there yelling themselves hoarse about alleged human rights violations in Cuba.
Meanwhile, Mexico’s PRD states that it cannot go along this interfering policy and that the peoples’ self-determination principles must be respected.
The Mexican organization said it would join the statement entitled ‘In Defense of Cuba,’ written by prestigious Mexican intellectuals and signed by scholars and cultural personalities from all over the world. (Cubaminrex - acn)
