US Policy Exposed at International Book Fair

CUBA, February 13, 2007.- The presentation at the International Book fair of five titles denouncing Washington's hostile Cuba policy and US-sponsored terrorism was at the center of activities during the weekend at the event, underway in Havana.

The titles "Terrorismo en el éter" (Terrorism on the Air) by Omar Pérez; "¿Disidencia?, mercenarios del imperio", (Discidents? Mercenaries of the Empire) by Armando Arias; Protocolo (Protocol) by Manuel Yépez; "Posada Carriles. Cuatro décadas de terror", (Posada Carriles, Four Decades of Terror) by Jean Guy Allard, and "Paraninfo, un magnicidio frustrado", (Auditorium, a Frustrated Assassination), by journalist Ivón Deulofeo, are now in the hands of Cuban readers.

The books, launched by the Capitan San Luis and Editora Politica publishing houses, offer new elements to the ideological battle being waged by the Cuban people in favor of truth and justice.

Sunday's activities began with an homage to the National Social Science Prize winner Eduardo Torres Cuevas, one of the two outstanding writers to which the fair has been dedicated.

Later on Sunday, Argentinean writers gathered at a pavilion in the fair exhibit ground to exchange on Argentinean-Cuban guerrilla fighter Ernesto Che Guevara, his hometown, his childhood and his life.

Meanwhile other book launchings took place in different pavilions with attractive titles especially for children.

The 16 International Book Fair was officially inaugurated last Thursday with the presence of Cuba?s First Vice President Raul Castro and it will run until next Sunday in Havana. After that, the fair will continue to offer its attractions in other Cuban cities.
