Raul Castro attended to the closure of the ANAP Congress
CUBA, May 17, 2010. Army General Raul Castro Ruz, President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, attended to the closure of the Tenth Congress of the National Association of Small Farmers, ANAP, where he expressed to the delegates the confidence of the Revolution, the Communist Party and the Cuban State in the farmers and that their number one mission is: to produce for the Cuban people.
Without planning, unity and discipline will be impossible to eliminate the remaining shortcomings in food production in Cuba, hence the need to analyze the obstacles that threaten our country's food security.
After presenting a summary of the main report by the State Board Member, Orlando Lugo Fonte, who was ratified as chairman of the ANAP, were read the individual reports by each of the three committees that met during last Saturday.
The closing speech was made by the Council of Ministers' Vice President, Marino Murillo. The also Minister of Economy and Planning recognized the patriotic tradition of the farmers' congresses and recalled various moments of our revolutionary process, in which this fighting force has always been present.
