Cuban Enterprise Extracted More Than 7,330,000 Barrels of Oil Last Year .

CUBA, January 12Th, 2011.- The western Cuban Oil Extraction and Drilling Enterprise has announced that it extracted more than 7,330,000 barrels of oil which greatly contributed to the reduction of oil imports.

Joel Pumariega, general director of the enterprise, praised the efforts several enterprises associated with the Santa Cruz del Norte facilities, which facilitated meeting the electricity needs of the Cuban capital while maintaining a stable supply of gas for cooking to more than one million people.

Those working on this venture aim to attain more efficiency in the exploitation of oilfields, the implementation of modern technologies, and the training of personnel so as to achieve better results.

The venture, which is made up of three big production groups, keen to increase its efficiency levels in view of the high prices of hydrocarbons in the international market. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
