Raul Castro presided over the main event in Villa Clara for the Day of National Rebelliousness

 

CUBA, July 26, 2010.-  The Cuban Head of State, Raul Castro, presided over this Monday morning in the central province of Villa Clara, the main event for the 57th Anniversary of the attacks to the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Garrisons.

Before more than 90 000 attendants, in representation of the entire Cuban people, Cuban First Vice President, José Ramón Machado Ventura, said the Latin-Americans are rising up to continue the struggle for independence of Martí, Bolívar and other glorious patriots.

Machado Ventura recalled Fidel Castro's recent words of tribute to Moncada fighters and pointed out that the supreme leader of the Revolution was present among the Cubans who paid tribute to Day of National Rebelliousness.

The Cuban VP evoked the historical importance of performing this event in a province as linked to the revolutionary career of the heroic guerrilla Ernesto Ché Guevara as Villa Clara.

He particularly congratulated the people of Villa Clara, as the major protagonist of the results that led this region to obtain the seat of the event.

Previously, the Communist Party First Secretary in the province, Julio Ramiro Lima highlighted the work done by the inhabitants of this territory to achieve such distinction.

The Minister of People's Power for Electricity of Venezuela, Alí Rodríguez, explained why President Chávez wasn’t able to attend to the celebration, and reiterated that his country won't tremble at the threats of the empire, because they are the children of Simón Bolívar. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
