Cuba's National Assembly Meets in Plenary Sessions.

CUBA, 31 July 2011.- Cuban parliamentarians are meeting in plenary sessions to discuss reports of the working commissions that met on Thursday and Friday.

Among the 12 working commissions reporting back to the island's lawmakers are the Agricultural, Health and Sports commissions, as well as reports from the Ministries of Transport and Science, Technology and the Environment.

In a special joint session, the parliamentary commissions on Economic and International Relations discussed in depth the critical implementation of projects with foreign funds in the fields related to food security.

Another commissions, such as Industry and Construction, focused their discussions on how to develop investments in areas of iron and steel, nickel, pharmaceuticals and textiles. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
