UN Recognizes Cuba’s Achievements in Health Sector.

CUBA, March 24, 2011.- Lea Guido, an official of the Pan-American and World Health Organizations, praised Cuba’s cooperation in the fight against infectious diseases in other countries of the world.

On the framework of World Health Day, to be celebrated next April 7, the official highlighted the Cuban example in that humanitarian field, particularly the provision of medical services to countries like Bolivia, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Haiti by Cuban collaborators.

Lea Guido praised the development of the health sector in the Caribbean island, where quality health care is accessible to all, and there’s a developed pharmaceutical industry and a Regulatory Bureau that monitors the quality of these products. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
