Máximo Gómez Machete Replicas Presented to Prominent Intellectuals.

CUBA, April 16, 2011.- The Revolutionary Armed Forces presented replicas of General Máximo Gómez’ mambí machete to prominent individuals and institutions of the Cuban culture.

Some of the distinguished recipients are movie, theatre, and television actress Deisy Granados, and National Cinema Prize winner, Fernando Pérez.

The ceremony was attended by Army General Joaquín Quinta Solá, Cuban Minister of Culture Abel Prieto, and President of the Cuban artists and writers association, Miguel Barnet. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
