Surinamese Vice President Signs Book of Condolences for Commander Juan Almeida
Suriname, September 16, 2009. Vice-president Randiem Sardjoe signed in Paramaribo the book of condolences opened at the Cuban embassy to pay homage to Cuban Revolution Commander Juan Almeida, who passed away on Friday.
In his message, the Surinamese leader paid tribute to Almeida’s exemplary life, and sent condolence to the President of the Ministers and State Councils Raul Castro Ruz, to the relatives of Almeida and the people of Cuba.
The book of condolence has also been signed by the Speaker of Parliament Paul Somohardjo, by the Ministers of Health, Public Works, Transport, and Labor , members of the Council of State, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Relations Jane Aarlan Nahnhu, parliamentarians, trade union leaders, members of the Friendship Association Suriname-Cuba, heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Suriname, the health and sports Cuban professionals ,working in Suriname , former Surinamese students in Cuba , and other persons , etc.
The former President of Suriname, Jules Wijenbosh also signed the book of condolences.
All the signatories expressed their admiration for the revolutionary live of Commander Juan Almeida Bosque. All of them were welcomed at the Cuban embassy by Cuban’s ambassador to Suriname Andrés González Garrido.
