Colombia, Brazil Offer Cuba Condolences

COLOMBIA, September 16, 2009. The displays of sorrow in the wake of the death of Cuban Vice President Juan Almeida Bosque continued in Bogota, with a book of condolences opened at the Cuban Embassy.

Cuban residents and personnel working in Colombia, as well as members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Bogota and Colombian notables continue going to the Cuban Embassy to pay tribute to the eternal fighter.

In remarks to Prensa Latina, Editor of Voz weekly Carlos Lozano said that Commander of the Revolution Juan Almeida Bosque, who died in Havana on Friday, September 11, has left a profound, significant legacy to the Latin American peoples.

"It is a legacy of consistency and firmness in the principles of loyalty to Fidel Castro and Raul Castro and to the Cuban people."

Meanwhile, Cubans in official missions and residents in Brazil, as well as foreign diplomats, Brazilians and a high ranking official from Timor Leste expressed their condolences for the recent demise of Cuban Vice President Juan Almeida Bosque.

"On behalf of the people from Timor Leste I express our deepest condolences to the people of Cuba, who lost a leader, President of the National Parliament of Timor Leste Fernando La Sama de Araujo wrote in the book of condolences opened today in the Cuban Embassy in Brazil.

The book of condolences for the loss of Juan Almeida Bosque will be opened until Thursday while a similar book will also remain opened until that day at the General Consulate of Cuba in Sao Paulo.(Cubaminrex- PL)
