CUBA, January 24, 2009. Education professionals from 44 countries and 14 ministers of education from all over the world will take part in the 11th International Education to run from January 26th till the 30th. The Secretary Generals of the Latin American Organization for Education, Science and Culture, and the Latin American Educational Television Association will participate in the conference, reported Juventud Rebelde newspaper. First Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education, Francisco Pereira, said at the press conference that some of the topics to be dealt with at the conference will be the general training of citizens, development and scientific education, the training of teachers, Education Sciences, the teaching of values, literacy and post-literacy programs, physical education and the relationship between education and culture. This time the scientific agenda will include a larger number of presentations per country, as well as the participation of professionals with higher qualifications. The Cuban delegation, for instance, includes 321 with doctorates and another 428 holding master’s degrees. This scientific gathering is aimed at promoting collaboration and exchanges on the findings of researches over the last two years, said Dr.Victoria Arencibia, head of the International Affairs Section of the Ministry of Education. Education 2009, the most important gathering of its kind in the region, will also include courses, symposiums and forums prior to the conference. These will be presented in round tables, panel discussions and also through posters. “We hope that Cuba, as the host country, plays an important role, supported by the training of the participants. It will be a tribute to the 50th Anniversary of the Revolution,” Pereira concluded. (Cubaminrex- ACN) |
