CUBA, September 12 , 2007.- Representatives from 79 nations that make up the Group from Africa, Caribbean and Pacific, ACP, demanded in Brussels an end to Washington ´s extraterritorial laws against Cuba.

During the 9th Session of the Group's Parliamentary Assembly the delegates approved a resolution demanding an end to Washington's extraterritorial laws and blockade against Cuba and reiterated its support to resolutions approved at the UN General Assembly on the issue.

The Cuban delegation to this event, presided by Rogelio Polanco, presented a draft resolution that was adopted by the majority of the parliamentary delegation of the 79 member nations.

The approved text includes the support of the ACP Parliamentary Assembly of which Cuba is full member, to the Declaration of the Summit's Head of Sate and Government held in Khartoum, Sudan in December of 2006.

On that occasion the group also expressed a "profound concern in relation with the new measures that strengthen and broaden the extraterritorial nature of the Helms Burton law.

The Resolution urged the co-president of the parliamentary group to inform the results of the meeting to the presidents of the Council of Ministers, the ACP and ACP-European Union, European Parliament and the Inter-Parliamentary Union among other international institutions. (Cubaminrex-RHC
