CUBA , July 4, 2007.- UN Environmental Program executive director Achim Steiner is due to give a lecture Wednesday at the 6th International Convention on Environment and Development, taking place at the capital"s International Conference Center .
Steiner is expected to analyze fundamental issues on the world"s environmental situation, including sustainable and integrated management of ecosystems, the role of information technology, pollution, relevance of a social and educational approach and biodiversity negotiations.
In the Congress on Water Resources, parallel to the convention, different experts will analyze water management faced with climate change, adaptation measures and Cuba "s position on this issue.
The meeting brings together about 250 delegates from 23 countries and will be run until Friday. (Cubaminrex-PL)
