Cuba to Participate in the Forum of Civil Society and Non Governmental Organizations in New York
UNITED STATES, February 5, 2008.- The President of the Association of Cuban Economists, Roberto Verrier, traveled on Tuesday to New York to participate in the meeting of the Forum of Civil Society and Non Governmental Organizations which will run until the 15th.
Verrier highlighted the importance of the meeting and pointed out that the Cuban delegation is expected to meet with renowned figures in world economy.
The head of the Cuban delegation said that the objective of the meeting is to analyze problems of globalization and the financial crisis.
The Cuban economic specialists added that the delegation is scheduled to meet with Nobel Economics Prize laureate Edmund Felps.
The Cuban economist stressed that Havana will soon host a meeting of the Association of Cuban economists with the confirmed participation of over 260 foreign specialists among them 7 representatives of the World Bank and a Vatican official. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
