Cuba Willing to Invite Other Special Rapporteurs
GENEVA, March 12, 2008.- Cuba´s ambassador to the UN Juan Antonio Fernandez that his country is willing to invite other special rapporteurs, at the request of Jean Zigler, UN official for the right to food during his official visit to the island.
The Cuban diplomat made the statements during the sessions of the UN Human Rights Council, referring to Zigler´s request for Washington to end its economic blockade against the island.
Juan Antonio Fernandez expressed his desire for Cuba to invite other special rapporteurs, if the constructive atmosphere persists in this new human rights council and no unjust campaigns are launched against the island.(Cubaminrex-RHC).
