Cuba echoed its position in the war against terrorism

CUBA, May 17th (ACN-RHC) Cuba reiterated its position to cooperate with any country, even the U.S. in preventing and confronting international terrorism, with mutual respect and sovereignty. When speaking at a UN session, Cuban permanent representative at the United Nations, Pedro Nuñez, ratified the Cuban repudiation to all terrorist acts, methods and practices.

The diplomat noted the labor of the island in this matter and recalled the terrorist actions suffered by the Cuban people that have caused the death of 1,478 people, and injured and incapacitated some 2,000. He also mentioned 13 agreements signed by Cuba regarding this topic and the fulfillment of the General Assembly and Security Council resolutions.

Nuñez also expressed the rejection of the island to the unilateral and politically motivated list of countries that allegedly foster terrorism, written by the U.S. administration, in which Cuba is included. (Cubaminrex-RHC)
