Emotional Meeting with Saint Lucian Graduates of Cuba.

SAINT LUCIA, 23 March 2011.-  The Residence of the Cuban Embassy in Saint Lucia was the scene of an emotional meeting with Cuban Graduates, during which the acts of March 13th, 1957 were commemorated, carried out by a group of University Students, headed by José Antonio Echeverría.  In her speech the Cuban Ambassador on the island, Lydia González, showed appreciation for being able to meet with the Cuban Graduates, who have been present in the main battles of the Cuban Revolution, in addition to the fight for the lifting of the Blockade and the Release of our Five Heroes.  She also underlined the great support received by the graduates in remembering the customs and sharing this space for Cubans; who are not “brothers and sisters” but rather colleagues and friends.

On behalf of the Graduates, Mr. Wayne Louis, a young man who recounted Cuba’s history, highlighting the character of solidarity of the Cuban Revolution, which despite the situations and through the times has maintained its sustained support for other countries, making this great force of highly qualified young people.  He reiterated the willingness of the Graduates to strengthen their ties of solidarity and support for Cuba and he ended his speech with a “Viva Cuba” which those persons present called out in unison.
