Encounter of the Cuban ambassador in Suriname with members of the Association of Friendship Suriname-Cuba

SURINAME, April 2, 2007.- The ambassador of Cuba in Suriname Andrés González Garrido held a friendly encounter with members of the Association of Friendship Suriname- Cuba and with the present president Dr. Celsius Waterberg, former student of Medicine in Cuba, and who is the Minister of Public Health in the Republic of Suriname.

In the encounter, the Cuban ambassador emphasized that solidarity with Cuba is increasing every day around the world, and it had been demonstrated through the thousands of voices that are raised against unjust blockade, imposed by the United States to Cuba, for more 40 years, and for the liberation of the cuban five heroes, prisoners of the empire. On the other hand the Dr. Waterberg, expressed that many surinamese are very identified with Cuba and grateful to the government and to the people for the cooperation and aid that had offered to them , through the formation of many professionals in Cuban institutions and by the thousands of surinamese patients, that thanks to the Milagro Mission have been operated in Cuba.

The group of activists of the Association of Friendship ratified their disposition to continue cooperating and developing solidarity and friendship between people of Cuba and Suriname. ( Cubaminrex-Embacuba Suriname)
