Brief remarks by Armando Vergara Bueno, Ambassador of Cuba to the State of Qatar in the ceremony of constitution of the Qatar-Cuba Friendship Association

Friends all,

It is a huge honor to share with you in the ceremony of establishment of the Qatar-Cuba Friendship Association and especially the day that commemorates the early twentieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries that have distinguished all of these years for being close, warm and exemplary.
We sincerely appreciate this noble gesture from you to our people who always will honor the sincere friendship achieved over two decades, characterized by respect and mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields including health, sport, culture, investment, among others and may I extend our sincere congratulations to the hospitable people of Qatar on the occasion of the National Day on  December18th, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, under the slogan of the day of solidarity, fidelity and pride. "

The Qatar-Cuba Friendship Association undoubtedly through its future activities, in which we shall be participating with you always, will contribute to a better understanding of Cuba and its people, between the Qatari friendly people, to whom we assured that our friendship has a fertile ground, both in Qatar and in Cuba, so new actions of our fruitful cooperation will become visible in the near future, with the opening of hotels built by Qatari Diar in my country or by the implementation of the General Hospital of Dukhan by Cuban medical personnel.

We congratulate you wholeheartedly, and we extend a special greeting to the friend and brother Mr. Naser Abdullah Amer Al-Saied Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Central Municipal Council for his enthusiasm and friendship we will not fail, because we are complying with the wishes of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Amir of Qatar and of the Commander in Chief of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz and of the President of the Councils of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, both dear friends of Qatar to strengthen cooperation ties which happily exist between our two nations and peoples.
Long live the friendship between Cuba and Qatar ....
