The ISCUF organizes solidarity meeting with Cuba in Trivandrum

Trivandrum, May 28. As part of the program of activities of solidarity with Cuba to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Revolution, the India Society for the Cultural Cooperation and Friendship (ISCUF), organized a massive rally of solidarity with Cuba with the presence of the Secretary of the District of the Communist Party of india, P. Ramachadra Nair, the Minister of Foods and Civil Supplies, Divakaran and the Cuban Ambassador in India, Miguel Ángel Ramírez.

The diverse speakers referred to the historical merit of Cuba of having survived 50 years in spite of the blockade and the imperialistic actions of United States and that today it shines as example for the rest of Latin America and the world.

The Minister referred particularly to the changes that are taking place in Latin America in favor of a greater solidarity and relationship of friendship with Cuba, which is the result of the example of courage of the Cuban Revolution, as well as his innumerable actions of solidarity in the Continent.

The Cuban diplomat, while appreciating the expressions of solidarity with Cuba, made special reference to the enormous injustice meted out against the Five Cuban Heroes who are in U.S. jails for more than 10 years for the only crime of combating the terrorism, while terrorists as Orlando Bosch and Luis Posada Carriles leisurely walk in the streets of Miami.

When referring to the economic blockade that United States maintain against Cuba, the Ambassador Ramírez, took advantage to emphasize the damage of more than 93 billion dollars to the Cuban economy and how it is a clear sample that there have not been essential changes of policies towards Cuba from President Bush to President Obama, because the blockade continues and in fact new companies are fined for maintaining businesses with Cuba. He called to the friends of Cuba not to be demobilized thinking that this new Administration is friendly, because it is only something more clever and less clumsier in its actions.
