Forum of Sao Paulo Highlights Example of the Cuban Revolution
CUBA, August 17th, 2010.- The example of the Cuban Revolution for the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean is highlighted in the main document of the 16th Meeting of the Forum of Sao Paulo (FSP) that begins on Tuesday in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
“The triumph of the Cuban Revolution through a genuine popular struggle led by Commander Fidel Castro was a decisive landmark in the history of Latin America,” reads the text written by the FSP’s Working Group that will be discussed in the event, Prensa Latina news agency reports.
The nearly 200 delegates that will participate in the meeting —which takes place in Argentina for the first time— will be received on Tuesday evening by the Argentinean Foreign Minister, Hector Timerman, at the Palace of San Martin in Buenos Aires.
The Forum of Sao Paulo is a conference of left-leaning political parties and other organizations from Latin America and the Caribbean. It was constituted in 1990 in the city of Sao Paulo by the Brazilian Workers’ Party. (Cubaminrex - ACN)
