CUBA, July 29, 2010 .- The members of the 21st US-Cuba Friendshipment Caravan attended on Wednesday night a cultural gala at the House of the Federation of University Students (FEU) located in downtown Havana.
The caravanistas got a first hand look at different tendencies of Cuban culture and exchanged with students from the University of Havana.
Attending the event were the Rector of the University of Havana, Gustavo Cobreiro Suárez; Reverend Lucius Walker, Executive Director of the Inter-Religious Foundation for Community Organization (IFCO); Reverend Raul Suarez, Director of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center; and Andres Morejon, representative of the North America Department of the Cuban Friendship Institute (ICAP).
Cobreiro said that the university students were honored to have the members of Pastors for Peace at their student center and a privilege to have people from the US express their solidarity with the Cuban Revolution.
The 85 members of the caravan will continue on Thursday with a program of activities that includes a workshop on race and religion at the Yoruba Society in Havana. (Cubaminrex-Cuban News Agency)
