Indian in Solidarity with Cuba

New Delhi, Jan 5. - The youth wing of the Indian Communist Party (Marxist) carried out a solidarity act with Cuba in Kerala state to close the activities for the 50 Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution in 2009.

With Kasargod as the venue for the activities also included different artistic expressions going from a painting exhibition in honour of the Cuban Revolutionary heroic deed and performances of musical groups to a theatre monologue based on the life of the Argentinean-Cuban guerrillas man Ernesto Che Guevara.

In the ceremony organized by the Federation of Indian Democratic Youth took part several youth leaders and members of the PCI (M) Politic Bureau and Parliament Member Sitaram Yechuri who highlighted the achievements of the Cuban Revolution and relevance of its example.

Yechuri also denounced the unilateral blockade imposed by United States to the Island and imprisonment of the Cuban Five antiterrorist for 11 years which case has left plain truth Washington double moral in its so-called antiterrorist war.

It also alerted youngsters on the need to keep on guard after emphasizing that US President Barack Obama is still been as imperialist and aggressive to Cuba like his predecessors

In his moment the Cuban ambassador in India Miguel Angel Ramirez emphasized the internationalist and solidarity character of the Cuban Revolution and particularly the Cuban contribution to the emergence and consolidation of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Americas (ALBA).

ALBA is becoming an anti-imperialist bastion in Latin America, emphasized the diplomatic.

The members of the Federation of Indian Democratic Youth also sent letters to US authorities demanding for the release of the Cuban Five imprisoned since 1998. (cubaminrex - Prensa Latina)
