Ecuador Orgs Reiterates Solidarity with Cuba
ECUADOR, Jan 9, 2010. - About 30 political, social, union and youth organizations reiterates its solidarity with Cuba in its 52 anniversary of the revolution and send greeting to its historical leaders, its government and the people in general. Organizations from the National Organizing Committee of Solidarity and National Committee to Free the Cuban Five took part at the fraternal meeting in the Cuban embassy in Quito.
The Organizing Committee of Solidarity's President and Vice-president Fidel Chiriboga and Vinicio Rojas gave brief speeches in which they reiterated the Ecuadoreans' support to de Cuban fight since the Moncada Attack in 1953.
The Cuban Ambassador Benigno Pérez thanked the Ecuadoreans for the actions they have undertaken for the release of the Cuban Five, prisoners in the United States for more than ten years.
He highlighted the participation of 193 Cuban doctors in the Manuela Espejo Mission to study the disabilities in Ecuador and the Ecuadorean people's solidarity with Cuba in the struggle against the political, financial and trade blockade.
The Association of Parents of Ecuadorian Scholarship Students in Cuba, the association of Cuban Living in Ecuador, the Electricity Workers' Union of Quito, Communist and Socialist Parties, The People Committee and the Youth Organizing Committee also took part at the meeting.
