Portuguese Communist Youth ratify solidarity with Cuba
CUBA, May 25, 2010. Delegates to the IX Congress of the Portuguese Communist Youth (JCP) ratified their solidarity with Cuba.
Representatives from some 20 countries, the General Secretariat of the World Federation of Democratic Youth, the Cuban Youth Communist League (UJC by its Spanish acronym) and the Cuban embassy to Lisbon attended the event.
The Cuban UJC, committed to preserve the Revolution in Cuba, especially in the face of the smear campaign in the US and European mass media, sent a message of solidarity to the participants in the Congress, which was received with cheering from the crowd.
Portuguese Communist Party General Secretary Jerónimo Sousa ratified his organization’s solidarity with Cuba in both the opening and closing speeches of the Congress.
He also addressed the shared priorities in the struggle for a better world, and their contribution to the upcoming World Festival of the Youth and the Students to take place in South Africa at the end of this year. (Cubaminrex- ACN)
