Cuba, Portugal Foster Cultural Ties and Friendship.

PORTUGAL, April 30, 2011.- Cuba and Portugal this year commemorate the 92nd anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations, and an intense program of activities began Saturday in this capital to foster cultural cooperation and friendship between the two peoples.

Known as the Portuguese-Cuban Days, the celebration also coincides with the 500 years of the foundation of Baracoa, the eldest Cuban town, where the first historical and cultural ties between the two countries was established.

The activities will be held until May 31. A delegation from Baracoa travelled to Lisbon to take part in the festivities, made up of representatives from different cultural groups. (Cubaminrex-Prensa Latina)
