
| Cuba Claims for a More Just World Havana, Jan 21, 2006 (Prensa Latina) It is necessary to fight for peace and achieve a more just world, where the people are no longer plundered, said Cuban President Fidel Castro. There is no option, the world has never had so many problems as today, he said during a radio, TV broadcast appearance that finished late Saturday night. There are serious challenges including environmental worsening and scarcity of natural resources, but it seems that some powers are thinking about using nuclear weapons as a solution for this crisis, the Revolution leader said. He denounced that the Organization of the United Nations has been cornered by developed countries led by the US . Fidel Castro described capitalism as irrational and stressed the need to raise world´s awareness to fight it. As the world is ever more globalized, we should all be concerned about the economic problems, the wars, the use of nuclear weapons and the diseases, he emphasized. In this regard, he said an ever increasing number of people are aware of the dangers posed to the planet and they are fighting for a better, safer world. Despite its strength, the US administration is ever more discredited and isolated due to its crimes, torture and plunder in the planet, he stressed.
