Trial against Terrorist Posada Postponed Again.

CUBA, March 1st, 2011.- Judge Kathleen Cardone postponed for the second day in a row the trial against terrorist Luis Posada Carriles in the federal court of El Paso, Texas, according to CubaDebate website.

"When I arrived to the court this morning I found out that the Posada Carriles case had been postponed again," Lawyer Jose Pertierra explained by phone.

Secretary of Judge Kathleen Cardone told me that a member of the jury was sick and the case has been scheduled to continue tomorrow, said Pertierra.

Pertierra, who is the Venezuelan Government’s legal representative for the criminal’s extradition, said that "there is no guarantee that the sick juror will get better enough to continue the trial tomorrow."

CubaDebate added that the court is adjourned under different pretexts since last Thursday, February 24, in a trial for immigration fraud that has taken over a month, when a proceeding like this takes much less time.

The trial started in January 10.

This is the fifth time that Judge Cardone postponed Posada’s trial for different reasons: one day because of the snow, others for cold and strong wind gusts and others for lawyers’ legal skirmishes. All things equal, we will remain here in El Paso for a quite a while, said Pertierra. (Cubaminrex-PL)
