Cuban Women Federation for Vilma

CUBA, August 24, 2007.- The Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) called for all women and men throughout the world to send their memories and assessments in a written form or an artistic expression, about revolutionary combatant Vilma Espin.

The initiative was released on occasion of the 47th anniversary of that organization, created on August 23, 1960, and to portray of the Revolution and the history of its heroes, like that of Vilma, who died on June 18.

March 8, 2008 is the deadline to send works to the FMC grass-roots organizations, and this will be the first step for the museum of women's history in the island.

Those works could appear in publications, research projects, songs, fine arts and other cultural expressions.

Vilma Espin founded the FMC in 1960 and presided it over until she died. (Cubaminrex-PL)
