Cuban professors in Suriname give lecture on Spanish in the contemporary world

SURINAME, November 11, 2008. At the opening ceremony of the Spanish courses of the Venezuelan Institute for Culture and Cooperation in Suriname (IVCC)   Cuban professors Vilma Perez and Beatriz González Garcell gave a lecture entitled The Spanish language in the contemporary world.

The activity was presided by Francisco Simancas and Andrés González Garrido ambassadors of the Bolivarian Republic   of Venezuela and the Republic of  Cuba to Suriname respectively, and attended by Spanish  teachers and students  of the IVCC.
Luis Carlos Alvarez, Director of the IVCC, made the introductory remarks.
In the lecture, the Cuban professors gave an exposé of the importance of the Spanish language in the contemporary world, and the benefits of learning it. They presented a panoramic overview of the differences in the Spanish that is spoken in different countries.
Vilma Perez and Beatriz González Garcell, professors of the University of Holguin are in Suriname since September this year, working as consultants in the teaching of the Spanish language. (Cubaminrex- Embacuba Surinam)
