President Lula arrives in Cuba Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, president of the Federative Republic of Brazil, begins a visit to our country today with the purpose of expressing Brazil’s solidarity with the people and government of Cuba in the wake of the damages caused by hurricanes Gustav and Ike. During his visit, he is to sign a contract on participation in hydrocarbons production between CUBAPETROLEOS and the PETROBRAS affiliate Petrobras Middle East B.v., and the Havana office of Brazil’s export and import promotion agency, APEX, is to be inaugurated. President Lula will hold official talks with General of the Army Raúl Castro Ruz, president of the councils of State and Ministers of the Republic of Cuba. (Cubaminrex- Granma Internacional)
