Belize City, October 24, 2008, The Cuban Ambassador to Belize Manuel Rubido denounced today, in a press conference al the Cuban Embassy in Belize, the criminal Blockade of the United States against Cuba. With the presence of local television, radio, written and digital press, the Cuban diplomat exposed the genocidal policy of the government of the United States as a fundamental part of its plans to overthrow the Cuban Revolution. The damages assessed were explained as rising to 93 billion dollars with concrete examples of the cruelty and injustice of the blockade. Special emphasis was dedicated to the 16 resolutions approved by the UN General Assembly since 1992 and the arrogance of with the government of the United States has ignored the almost unanimous will of the international community to put an end to the longest blockade endured by any nation in the history of humanity. At the end of the conference the Cuban Ambassador delivered a Press Release elaborated by the Cuban Embassy for its publication and added “… In spite of the genocidal blockade Cuba will resist and advance.
